This Pittsburgh rhinoplasty patient was not happy with his high dorsum, the tip of his nose was rotated up a little too much, and his tip was a little bulbous.
Left Lateral:
The surgery nicely reduced the height of his dorsum, without causing a feminized nose by overly reducing the nasal bridge. With male rhinoplasty it’s very important to maintain a strong nasal bridge. Even in female patients, modern rhinoplasty doesn’t aim for the “scooped out” look that was popular in decades past. Today we strive for a more refined, by totally unoperated look. This approach also helps with optimizing nasal breathing after rhinoplasty.
Left Oblique:
This view gives a nice look at the more harmonious nasal bridge and tip. After the surgery the nose is no longer a distraction from the other aspects of his face.
Right Lateral:
Another nice view on the smoothed nasal bridge. Please also note that the nasal tip has been brought slightly closer to the face, giving a more balanced proportion. Finally, the angle at the nasal spine (the angle between the upper lip and the base of the nose) has been made crisper and less rounded.
