Wrinkles around the lips are a common problem as a result of expressions made while talking, pursing the lips, damaged skin or smoking. In the past, these lines have been very difficult to treat due to the positioning of the lines and constant movement of the skin and muscles.

Restylane® Silk has been specifically developed to target and improve bothersome wrinkles and lines and correct asymmetry around the mouth. Since Restylane® Silk is made up of small particles, it is great for delicate and sensitive areas of the face, such as the lips. It is currently the only FDA-approved dermal filler on the market for the treatment of perioral lines (lines around mouth) and lip augmentation.

How can Restylane Silk improve my appearance?

As we age, our skin not only creates more wrinkles and lines, but we also begin to lose facial volume. The lips are no exception. With Restylane® Silk, we can redefine the contour of the lips and replenish lost volume, resulting in a more youthful and fuller pout. Lips can once again look feminine, alluring and soft. It is important to note that when it comes to lips, Dr. Leong prefers a more conservative and natural looking appearance and stands by his motto that “if it doesn’t look natural, it doesn’t look good!”

Tell me about the peripheral aspects of Restylane Silk

Restylane® Silk lasts approximately five months, and treatment takes about 30 minutes, depending upon the area(s) of injection. Areas of the face that are in constant motion (such as the lips) tend to absorb filler more quickly, and therefore may need to be maintained more often than other areas of the face. Results with Restylane Silk can be seen immediately. For lip augmentation or lip contour, treatment typically begins in the vermillion border of the lips and then moves onto areas of the lips in need of volume.

For optimal results when targeting lines and wrinkles, Restylane® Silk can be used alongside with Botox® Cosmetic or Dysport®. Please note that you must be at least 21 years old to receive Restylane® Silk injections

Restylane® Silk contains 0.3% lidocaine (a numbing agent) which can make treatment more comfortable, which is especially helpful in tender areas of the face such as the lips.

What is the cost of Restylane® Silk Injections in Pittsburgh?

The cost of Restylane® Silk injections can vary depending upon who is performing the injection as well as their geographic location. The price of a dermal filler like Restylane® Silk can typically range from $600 to $1,200 per syringe. Dr. Leong and his team will perform a thorough consultation to determine each patient’s unique wishes.
