What are the benefits of non-surgical rhinoplasty?

One of the great benefits of using a filler (such as Restylane®, Perlane® or Juvederm®) to correct the nose is the ability to see immediate results and get an idea of what your nose could look like if you decide to move forward with surgery. Dr. Leong performs all non-surgical rhinoplasty injections in our Pittsburgh, Sewickley, Wexford and Greensburg offices and have extensive experience reshaping the nose. You can be assured that you are receiving quality, specialized service.

What can I expect during non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Our Pittsburgh non-surgical rhinoplasty takes approximately 20-30 minutes in the office. Before treatment, Dr. Leong injects a local anesthetic to numb the area and increase comfort. He then precisely injects the filler into specific areas of the nose to obtain the desired result. One of the advantages of having a non-surgical rhinoplasty is that you will have the opportunity to observe the progress of the procedure and provide feedback as needed along the way. You may be a little red or swollen right after treatment, but most patients are able to return back to work immediately.

Who is a good candidate for a non-surgical nose job?

Dr. Leong will decide if you are a good candidate for a non-surgical rhinoplasty during your consultation. When scheduling, you can either choose to have treatment right after your consultation, or schedule another appointment to come back for the procedure.

A man or woman looking to temporarily smooth out a nasal hump, correct a nasal deviation or alter the appearance of the nasal tip is generally a good candidate for treatment. A non-surgical rhinoplasty can straighten and/or create more symmetry in the nose. This can be an especially good option for teenagers who have not reached their optimal age for a surgical rhinoplasty, but who would like to improve the appearance of the nose.

I had been considering getting a non-surgical nose job done for several years and really did my research. The procedure was almost pain free with absolutely no bruising. Dr. Leong and his staff are very professional and friendly and I couldn’t be happier. I definitely recommend him to anybody considering facial plastic surgery. You won’t find a doctor better than him.

How long does a non-surgical rhinoplasty last?

When a filler like Restylane®, Juvederm® or Perlane® is injected into the nose, it usually lasts about 8 months. Hyaluronic acid is reabsorbed into the body and the nose eventually returns back to its original shape.

Can a non-surgical rhinoplasty make my nose look smaller?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty can strengthen the bridge of the nose and narrow the angle of the tip, which makes the nose appear smaller. When the nose is more symmetrical and straight, it appears less prominent and therefore less of a focal point on the face. A non-invasive rhinoplasty can be a perfect solution for patients with an “ethnic nose” (usually seen in those of Asian or African American decent).

How much filler will be used for my nose, and is the procedure painful?

The amount of filler used depends on each patient and the level of correction needed. We strive to ensure that all patients are comfortable during procedures and that pain is minimized. Lidocaine is injected prior to the procedure to numb the area and reduce discomfort.

Why is Restylane® used over Radiesse® or Artefil®?

Dr. Leong prefers to use Restylane® due to its consistency and the outstanding results that he can achieve when using this product. Restylane® is a smooth hylaronic acid filler that can easily be administered without causing lumps or bumps in the nose. Another benefit of using Restylane® is the ability to remove the filler, if needed.

What are the benefits of choosing a non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure?

  • Capability to reduce the size of the nose
  • One-time procedure
  • Ability to correct functional or medically related issues

  • Results are temporary

Cons of rhinoplasty surgery:

  • Higher costs
  • Approximately 2 weeks of downtime
  • Full results seen in a year, once swelling resolves
