When is the Best Time to Start Getting Botox?

October 13, 2017

In today’s world, we see many people becoming more health conscious while taking preventative measures to get screening and wellness tests performed. We see more and more people who are taking action to increase their level of physical activity to better their future quality of life. It is no surprise that anti-aging treatments are on the rise as well!

There are endless anti-aging treatment options to choose from now days such as skin care products, lasers, and injectables. Botox is amongst one of the top preventative treatment options available and is used to relax specific muscles to diminish the appearance of wrinkles. The most common areas that Botox and Dysport are used for:
• Crow’s feet (around the outer corners of the eyes)
• Forehead wrinkles
• Masseter (to reduce jaw line)
• Glabella (horizontal lines in between the brows)

In the past, many people would not even consider Botox treatments until the wrinkles and fine lines have already been established on their face. However, it is now very common for people to start getting Botox to PREVENT the formation of wrinkles. While there is not necessarily a “recommended” time to begin Botox, for those looking for preventative measures, it may be best to start when lines can be noted at rest. Some people notice these lines in their mid 20s while others might not notice them until their late 30s.

Why would you not take advantage of preventing wrinkles before they even set in? Schedule your consultation with Dr. Leong in one of our five Pittsburgh locations today!
