1. Deep Neck Lift in the central neck The fullness of the lower face was really composed of three separate issues. The fat under his chin was mostly deep neck fat – in other words, fat that cannot be addressed with simple liposuction. I performed an advanced procedure in which excess fat and muscle deeper in the neck was removed through a small incision under his chin. Many patients try to have this area treated with techniques like liposuction, energy assisted liposuction, freezing the fat, or injecting fluids into the area under the chin that is supposed to dissolve the fat. Very, very frequently these techniques produce disappointing results. The Deep Neck Lift is key to getting significant improvement.

2. Chin Implant The patient didn’t like his smaller chin and felt it made his neck look more rounded. A chin implant inserted through the same incision as the deep neck lift was a nice addition to the contour of his neck.

3. Lateral Neck Liposuction In order to create a more defined and aesthetic jawline lateral neck liposuction was performed. While liposuction is frequently inadequate in the central neck, lateral neck can be very effective.

4. Buccal Fat Removal The final part of the procedure was Buccal Fat Removal. This is a terrific procedure performed through two small incisions in either cheek – totally inside the mouth and invisible from the outside. You’ll note the improvement in the “chubby cheek” appearance.

The combination of these four procedures can make a profound change to the chubby appearance of the cheeks, the double chin appearance, and the overall attractiveness of the face. Recovery is often quite quick and tolerable making this a favorite approach for many of our patients.
