How to Reduce the Skin Damage From Your Adolescence

September 1, 2017

Even if a time machine existed, it is impossible to reverse ageing and completely skip the teenage years when hormones were out of control. For some of us, acne and the scars they left did a real “number” on our complexion. Make up and products can only do so much to help camouflage all of the skin’s imperfections.

Luckily, with advanced technology, there are now options to reduce acne scarring and leave one with a more even skin tone. The Cortex Fractional CO2 and Erbium Yag is a state of the art laser that can help erase time and boost one’s self confidence.

The Cortex Fractional CO2 penetrates deep into the dermis while the Erbium Yag treats more superficial layers of skin. This combination of fractional and ablative lasers helps to achieve long lasting results. Cortex has the ability to reduce acne scarring, improve the skin’s texture, stimulate collagen, and reduce pore size. Although this treatment is great for acne scars, it is not recommended for active acne.

Just like any cosmetic treatment, this laser combination does come with risks and downtime. The Cortex Fractional CO2 and Erbium Yag requires about a week of social downtime while the skin heals. If exposed to the sun pre or post treatment, there are higher risks of burning and scarring. This treatment is highly recommended for months with limited sun exposure such as Winter and Fall.
